UP PCS New Vacancy 2026: How to Apply
If you haven’t done OTR yet, here’s the first step:
- Visit the official website of the Commission https://uppsc.up.nic.in.
- Click on the ‘OTR’ tab and select ‘Register Now’.
- Verify your mobile number and email ID.
- Enter your personal details, educational qualification and upload photo/signature.
- After submitting, you will receive an OTR number. Keep it safe.
Step 2: Online Application
- Login: Go to the ‘Apply’ section on the website. Click ‘Apply’ next to ‘Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services.’
- Authentication: Enter your OTR number. Authenticate it using the OTP received on your mobile/email.
- Application Form: Most of your information will be automatically filled in by OTR. Just fill in a few additional details, such as your position preference and exam center.
- Fee Payment: Click on the ‘Pay Fee’ option. Pay the prescribed fee (₹125/₹65/₹25) as per your category through Net Banking, Card or UPI.
- Final Submission: After payment, final submit the form.
- Printout: After submission, take a printout of your application form and keep it safe for future reference.

1. Is it mandatory to do OTR (One Time Registration) for UP PCS 2026?
Yes, OTR is required to apply for any recruitment through the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission. Without an OTR number, you cannot fill out the application form. If you have not already done OTR, complete it immediately by visiting the Commission’s website before filling the form.
2. Can candidates from other states appear in this exam?
Yes, candidates from other states can also apply for UP PCS 2026.
3. Can final year graduation students apply?
Yes, candidates who are in the final year of their graduation are eligible to apply. Provided, they must possess proof of their degree or declaration of result by the last date of application for the Main Examination.
4. What is the negative marking in the Prelims exam?
Yes, there is negative marking in the Preliminary Examination. For each incorrect answer, 1/3 (0.33) of your marks will be deducted. Therefore, choose your answers carefully.
5. Do Prelims marks count towards the final merit list?
No, the preliminary exam is only a screening test. The final merit list is prepared solely on the basis of scores obtained in the main exam and interview.
