A total of08 vacancies have been notified, and selection will be carried out through shortlisting based on CLAT PG scores, followed by SSB interview, medical examination, and final merit list. Selected candidates will undergo 49 weeks of pre-commission training at OTA, Chennai, starting October 2026, during which they will receive a stipend of ₹56,100 per month. On successful completion of training, candidates will be commissioned as Lieutenant in the JAG branch of the Indian Army under Short Service Commission, with options for extension and permanent commission as per existing policies.

- The recruitment is being conducted for the Judge Advocate General (JAG) Branch under the Short Service Commission (SSC) through the JAG Entry Scheme – 124th Course (October 2026). This entry is open for unmarried male and unmarried female candidates. Selected candidates will be commissioned as Lieutenant in the Indian Army after successful completion of training at Officer Training Academy (OTA), Chennai.
Education Qualification
- Candidates must possess an LLB degree (either 3-year LLB after graduation or 5-year integrated LLB after 10+2) from a Bar Council of India (BCI) recognized university/college with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks. In addition, appearing in CLAT PG 2025 is mandatory for all applicants, including those who have completed or are appearing in LLM. Candidates must also be eligible for registration as an Advocate with the Bar Council of India or State Bar Council.
